Unemployment is one of the most difficult times especially if you associate your self worth with having a job and/or need an income to afford all of your financial obligations. It is very important that you stay positive and optimistic about future employment. Network with people who have a positive outlook and are willing to share job leads with you. Identify and take advantage of free workshops, certificate programs, technical programs and training opportunities online and in person. Don’t restrict yourself to online resources because you might miss a great opportunity from striking up a conversation during an early morning commute and/or at an in-person meeting place. Keep all of your job boards up-to-date and manage your phone calls and emails promptly. Be prepared for anything; your unemployment will end soon.
